Colorful Books

Library Remodel, Books and Digital Materials​

In addition to keeping our library facilities up to date we have also granted award winning Monarch, Bluestem and Rebecca Caudill books for our libraries, digital and interactive reading resources such as RAZ kids program and author visits.

Broadcast Studio

​

In early 2022 Hickory Creek opened their new Tiger TV Lab at Hickory Creek Middle school.  The new broadcast studio space includes green screens, cameras, lights and other production equipment.  The student led broadcasts include school news, events, fun features, sports, and special events.  The lab enhances the areas of Technology, AV, Writing, and Music.

Technology Class

STEM Lab

A grant from the District's Education Foundation in the amount of $69,750 purchased resources that supports 21st Century learning. The STEM Lab, located in Chelsea Intermediate School, creates a hands-on approach to learning and help students develop problem solving skills by connecting the classroom to the real world. 

Collaborative Learning​​

Hickory Creek library enhancements were made to encourage student collaboration for the 21st Century learner.  These changes include flexible seating, couches, chairs, tables, and a "Genius Bar." It also features collaborative tables with low and high tops, couches and standing desks in the project room with visionary glass to brainstorm.

Enhancing School Resources

The Foundation awarded funding for items that include technology and SMART boards, learning website licenses, books for literature circles, stand up desks and flexible seating in the classroom, animals in the classroom and subscriptions for resources that support language arts interventions, physical education materials and Engineering resources.

Musical Notes

Music and Arts

For Hickory Creek Middle School, the Foundation awarded funding of over $32,000 which included a Music Software and Hardware Upgrade to be used in the music classes.

​

In 2022 the foundation granted Community Weaving materials for Chelsea arts program.
